Description

CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer required to join a construction company, delivering projects to both public and private sector clients.  Sectors include commercial, education, health, regeneration and residential.  You will have responsibility for managing your own projects - being the key interface between and liaising with the Client Teams, Design Teams, Principal Contractors, and others.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate who wants to progress and be the company’s first CDM team member in Manchester.  It is a regional role supplying services to clients primarily across the North West and Midlands. 

It is a hybrid role with a connection to the Birmingham and Manchester office.

Duties include:

Providing CDM advice and support to Clients.

Visiting project sites to assess potential health and safety risks, buildability constraints, access restrictions and on- site hazards.

Preparing Pre-Construction Information, Construction Phase Plans and Health and Safety Files.

Co-ordinating and attending design meetings and project meetings.

Review surveys, records and assess any potential risks to health and safety during both construction and post completion.

Work with the design team in preparing and updating CDM Risk Registers

Near miss and accident investigation where required.

Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect the company.

Experience

You will have a proven track record of providing CDM support and advice and implementing practical safety and health systems within a construction environment. You will have supported Clients, Designers and Contractors to fulfil their duties under CDM 2015.

Qualifications

NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualifications, ideally holding or progressing to Diploma, Degree level. Principal Designer, CDM accreditation, qualifications. APS Membership.

The company are offering £47k-£49k plus pension, life assurance and healthcare.
