- Description
- Health and Safety Manager required by a national Laundry business, an employer of c1300 staff to provide on-going Health and Safety Management and continual improvement of existing systems, policies and procedures at their Sheffield facility. The business provides linen services to the healthcare sector, including collection and delivery through a fleet of vehicles.
This is a hands on role which will be supported by Safety Champions and is supported by the Group Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager.
Duties include- Driving Compliance and standards through, advice support, knowledge and experience.
- Lead monthly health and safety meetings and forums.
- Conduct basic health and safety training for all staff.
- Carry out risk assessments, safety inspections and follow up actions.
- Reporting incidents and accidents, RIDDOR to the Group SHEQ Manager.
- Monitor UK legislation and implementation, driving improvements as part of the team.
- Support the quality and microbiology testing processes.
- Experience
- This is a fast moving heavy machinery site in a high fire risk industry. You will have sufficient experience gained in a transferable sector i.e. food and beverage processing, manufacturing and others, to enable you to hit the ground running and make an instant impact. This is a predominantly Health and Safety role where experience and knowledge in Environmental and Quality Management and systems would be advantageous. As would exciting Fire Safety Management experience and qualifications.
- Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate and ideally further safety qualifications. NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety - beneficial. Strong Microsoft Office skills. ISO 9001 Standard; certified management systems - desirable
