Description

Fire Engineer required to join a multidisciplinary built environment consultancy to work across a range of buildings and sectors, on different fire safety challenges and issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Compiling fire strategy reports and collaborating with stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Assisting clients with meeting requirements under relevant legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2022, relevant secondary legislation, the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the Fire Safety Order (as amended).
  • Conducting fire risk analysis and providing guidance on appropriate control measures.
  • Supporting internal design teams as part of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Addressing various fire safety challenges and issues across a diverse range of buildings and sectors.
  • Maintaining regular communication with Client’s team to co-ordinate inspection programmes and remedial works.
  • Gathering on site particulars, documenting required schedules of works, preparing specifications, obtaining estimates, planning work schedules and monitoring on site progress whilst ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Applying a practical and systematic approach to problem solving, adhering to fixed budgets and working within tight deadlines.
  • Offering advice with applications for Building Regulations Approval on Fire Related matters.

 
This role is ideal for someone looking to progress further in their career.  The company are offering £50k -£60k plus an excellent benefits package, including providing the opportunity to learn, develop and gain further qualifications.  

Experience

Experience in some of the above resposibilities.

Qualifications

Fire safety or fire risk engineering degree is essential. You will hold membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers and will have achieved or be working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council. You must be fully conversant with current fire safety legislation including the Building Regulations and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and technical standards as well as a full understanding of current fire safety issues, trends and best practice.
