Description

Construction Health and Safety Consultant required by a construction consultancy to work with a drinks manufacturing company on a £30 million project to establish a new production line. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all construction activities adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

You will be required to work on-site at the production plant in Wakefield.

Responsibilities
Represent the client's interests to ensure the Principal Contractor is fully compliant with construction phase plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements, CDM Regulations and all relevant legislation.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential health and safety hazards.
Advise project stakeholders on best practices for maintaining a safe working environment.
Review and approve contractor health and safety documentation, including method statements and permits to work.
Provide health and safety training to construction teams as necessary.
Investigate incidents or near misses, providing recommendations for prevention and improvement.
Keep up to date with health and safety legislation and industry standards, implementing necessary updates to project procedures.

Experience

Proven experience as a Health and Safety Consultant within the construction industry. Food production projects or similar would be beneficial. In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including CDM regulations. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

NEBOSH or equivalent qualifications ideally to Diploma level. GradIOSH/CertIOSH/CMIOSH status.
