Description
Health and Safety Advisor required by a broad sector Mechanical and Electrical engineering and construction contractor.  Complex projects are delivered across sectors including data centres, distribution, pharmaceuticals, and power transmission.
 
You will lead and coordinate daily Health and Safety requirements on assigned projects and implement and maintain company management systems. 
 
This role requires frequent travel between projects and may require overnight stays.

Role:
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support in all health and safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including sub-contractors, suppliers and visitors).
  • Identify training needs, report requirements to project team and carry out training as required.
  • Carry out internal audits and site inspections.
  • Report on business health and safety risks, KPIs and trends.
  • Ensure incidents are reported and investigations are carried out to identify root causes and corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Alongside the site management team, prepare a project specific Health and Safety Plan, induction and Risk Assessment Method Statements.
  • Review and update Site Health and Safety Plans, RAMS and other associated site documents.
  • Implement effective measures aimed at the prevention of incidents at work.
  • Report on areas of concern to the relevant party for correction.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required.
  • Lead and coordinate incident investigations and utilise root cause analysis.
  • Visit new projects, set up the necessary site safety files registers, abstracts of regulations, posters, reports programme etc. ensuring that site establishment complies with the legislation, client regulations and company regulations as a minimum.
 
  
The company are offering €65k to €75k plus car/allowance, pension, health, bonus and more and offer strong career development opportunities through internal promotion and further training and development.
Experience
c5+ Years’ Experience in similar industry. Knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical preferred. Experience likely to have been gained in a contractor environment, with some main contractor experience preferred.
Qualifications
NEBOSH qualifications, ideally to diploma level or equivalent. CertIOSH/GradIOSH status and working towards CMIOSH preferred. Environmental Management qualification preferred. Safe Pass, (CSCS (UK)), Train the Trainer, First Aid, Training Instructor preferred. Internal ISO14000 and ISO45000 system auditor preferred.
