- Description
- Company Health and Safety Manager required by a multi-disciplinary ISO accredited Principal Construction contractor serving the logistics and industrial projects sector.
The position is based from their Birmingham office.
Main Duties:- Provide guidance to Directors, Senior Managers and operational staff on safety, health, environmental, and quality policies, as well as cost-effective safety solutions.
- Formulate, update, and oversee policies and procedures, including the company's integrated management system, in accordance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Travel to various live construction sites nationwide to conduct periodic audits and inspections related to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality, collaborating closely with staff to ensure adherence to company policies, mitigate business risks, and promote good site practices.
- Assist in creating site health and safety files, Risk Assessment and Method Statements, construction phase plans, waste management plans and environmental plans.
- Contribute to the company's induction process in collaboration with the HR Manager.
- Conduct regular refresher training sessions, manage training records, and develop Toolbox Talks.
- Generate statistical reports for senior management's monthly project reviews and Directors Review meetings.
You can expect to be at live construction sites nationwide c50% of the time with the remainder spent in the office with flexibility for home working.
The role will require some travel to their London office and overnight stays.
The company are offering £70k - £80k with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Private Health Insurance and more. - Experience
- Have a significant career to date in driving standards, change, education and support to project and management teams. This will have been gained in a Principal Contractor or Large subcontractor environment.Hold a full UK driving licence.

- The company operates an IMS so are ideally seeking someone holding a Lead Auditor qualification in a least one relevant ISO standard, ideally 45001.NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.Ideally CIMOSH qualified.Lead auditor qualification for IS0 9001, 45001 or 14001
