Description

Fire Risk Assessor required by a built environment consultancy to join the team at their Birmingham office.   
 
As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting site-based fire risk assessments within a variety of sectors, including commercial, industrial and residential.
The company has a flexible approach to hybrid working, to suit both you and the team.
 
Role:
Your Fire Risk Assessor duties include:

  • Communicating with Clients to co-ordinate programmes of inspections and remedial works.
  • Ensuring buildings comply to the latest fire related building regulations and technical standards.
  • Taking particulars on site, preparing specifications, obtaining estimates, planning programmes of work, writing up schedules of work, monitoring progress of works on site and checking compliance.
  • Working to fixed budgets and tight deadlines.
  • Providing advice in connection with applications for Building Regulations Approval on Fire related matters.
  • Authorising and signing off Fire Risk Assessments.

 
 
The company are offering £45k-£50k with car allowance, pension, healthcare and many more benefits.

Experience

Experienced Fire Risk Assessor who has been carrying out work either on a consultancy or in-house basis. Or an experienced ex-fire and rescue service inspecting officer with experience in auditing premises under the Fire Safety Order. Knowledge of current fire safety legislation including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and technical standards. Understanding of current fire safety issues, trends and best practice. Experience of carrying out fire risk assessments in a range of premises.

Qualifications

Minimum Level 4 qualification in fire risk management, or Level 5 qualification in fire risk assessment or fire engineering. Registered on the national register of Fire Risk Assessors, either via IFE, FRACS or Tier 3 IFSM. Driving license as the role involves regular travel.
