- Health and Safety Assistant required to join a company operating and maintaining power transmission services.
AsHealth and Safety Assistant, you will support the Health Safety, Quality and Environmental Manager with the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of personnel. You will assist in ensuring the company and its contractors comply with statutory requirements and any associated company policies or procedures. You will support the HSQE Manager to develop and implement the Company’s Corporate Management Systems.
This is a hybrid role. You will be working in London three days per week and working from home two days per week. Your role will enable you to work with both the Corporate Team in London and the Operational Team based in Folkstone.
Reporting to and with the support of the HSQE Manager, your dutieswill include:
• Assisting in ensuring compliance with local regulatory Health and Safety requirements
• Assisting in ensuring compliance with contract Health and Safety requirements
• Assisting in the development and delivery of safe Operational Processes
• Assisting in enforcing company policies and procedures
• Assisting teams to deliver an exemplary Health and Safety performance
• Supporting the HSQE Manager in identifying potential and actual areas of improvement.
• Supporting the HSQE Manager when liaising with stakeholders.
• Assisting teams in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and identifying ways to manage and reduce these risks
• Promoting a safe culture by being informed, mindful, learning, fair and respectful
• Assisting in carrying out safety audits and inspections as per audit plan
• Supporting the HSQE Manager to provide input to Health and Safety Management System Reviews
• Assisting in ensuring Incidents are recorded and reported
• Assisting in High-Level and Near Miss Incident investigations
• Providing support to ensure company safety expectations are communicated to the workforce
• Supporting the HSQE Manager to review contingency drills to maintain and increase staff competency
• Assisting in setting up an effective emergency response organisation on site
• Carrying out and following up on workplace assessments
• Monitoring the quality of data entered in the reporting and action tracking tools
The company are offering £40k-£48k plus further Health and Safety training, career development, pension and healthcare. - Experience
- c12months – 2 years’ experience from a mechanical, electrical, power and/or utilities sector would be advantageous.
- Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.TechIOSH working towards GradIOSH would be beneficial but not essential.Good IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
