Description
A premium contracting and fit-out company are looking for a Construction Safety Advisor to provide specialist Health and Safety advice to management and project teams across the North and Central Belt Scotland regions.  They can therefore be flexible on where you are based across the Cumbria, Central belt Scotland or North East England region.

The company provide services to independent clients and multinationals throughout the UK and Europe.  You will deliver projects to a variety of sectors including education, data centres, retail, logistics and leisure.

This role will specifically focus on retail fit-out projects, primarily with the major supermarkets.  They deliver c15-20 fast track fit-out projects at any one time across the region.  Values range from c£800k - £2.5m and last 12-16 weeks.

The projects work to tight deadlines, where solutions to Health and Safety issues need to be found to keep projects moving.

Duties
  • Working with line management to assist in fulfilling Health and Safety responsibilities to maintain and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Conducting audits and inspections to promote best practice.
  • Deliver training and education in best practice.
  • Develop risk responses and plans to eliminate the risks on projects.
  • Attend meetings as required throughout projects.
  • Visit project sites.
  • Review Construction Phase Plans.
  • Work as part of a team and independently.
  • Provide support to project teams on live construction sites.
  • Compile monthly Health and Safety progress reports.

The role will pay c£45k-£55k plus car/allowance, pension, healthcare.
Experience
Demonstrable experience within the construction industry, with a large/main or Principal Contractor. Fit-out experinece would be preferred.Experience with CDM notifiable projects.A good practical understanding of the principles of Health and Safety legislation.
Qualifications
NEBOSH general/construction certificate or equivalent and ideally further safety qualifications holding or working towards GradIOSH/CMIOSH status.
