Description
Health, Safety, Environmental Manager to work on a Highways Project in East Yorkshire. You will drive Safety, Health and Environmental compliance across the project and provide support and advice directly to line management on how to control risks and meet legal and company standards.

Duties:
Undertake Health and Safety compliance evaluations, inspections, and audits, record and liaise with operational management to ensure actions are completed.
Monitor, collate and interpret health and safety performance data including close out of inspection and accident investigation reports, providing management reports on a routine basis.
Liaise with HSES colleagues within Highways and Specialist Services and attend regular co-ordination meetings.
Support line management at meetings with Client.
Carry out project and business sector HSES performance reviews using lagging and leading indicators.
Support line manager in the development of local health, safety environmental and sustainability.
Keep up to date with changes to legislation.
Support the development and implementation of new policies, processes and procedures.



The company are offering £50k - £55k plus car/allowance, pension, healthcare.

Experience
Previous Health and Safety experience in Highways.Experience within a Principal Contractor would be beneficial but not essential.Good depth of knowledge in health and safety law, environmental law and ecological matters.Experience of providing leadership and support to operational and functional teams.Health, safety and environment management experience.Sustainability knowledge and experience.Experience of Management System (e.g. 18001/14001/9000).
Qualifications
Health and Safety Diploma or equivalent preferred and ideally progressing with continued education.Desirable: GradIOSH or CMIOSH status.
